ABOUT ME

I am currently a lecturer at Seattle University in Wahington. I teach a variety of courses in civil engineering, including Mechanics of Materials, Soil Mechanics, and Engineering Economics. I was a postdoctoral researcher working under the supervision of Prof. Ertugrul Taciroglu within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

My current research is focused on the advanced numerical methods to consider Soil-Structure Interaction effects on infrastructures including dynamic response of RC bridges under coupled ground motions, soil-pipe interaction under fault movements and seismic response of storage tank.

Research Interests

  • Earthquake engineering
  • Vertical Ground Motions (VGMs) effects on seismic fragility analysis of highway bridges
  • Dynamic analysis of deep foundations
  • Probabilistic and stochastics methods in geotechnical/structural engineering
  • Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI) effects on infrastructures
  • Assessment of underground structures under dynamic action
  • Performance-Based Seismic Design (PBSD)
  • Seismic effects on storage tanks including SFI and SSI
